MORAL ETHICS

Logan Hayek and Trey Odean

SITUATIONAL ETHICS

  • when you decide moral goodness/evilness of something based on the situation
  • Obama decides that it will be good to bomb Syria to take out ISIS.
  • The problem with this is that we are bombing innocent people to kill a terrorist organization.
  • Bombing is always bad when we are killing innocent people to take out a bad organization

PROPORTIONALISM

  • Doing a proportion or comparing the amounts of good/evil results of the action
  • Over the past few years theres been increase in child refugees coming to the U.S.
  • Children from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras come illegally.
  • The bring in new diseases to our country which is not present in our country.
  • We have decided worth it to help them or not.

CONSEQUENTIALISM

  • Where one justifies a moral good(evil)ness of the act,
  • whether the consequences are good or bad
  • Where some one goes in a shoots a hospital,
  • This hospital is filled with patients that have ebola.
  • He does not want to get the rest of the U.S. sick or infected.
