LOCATION AND FREQUENCY

  • They can be found in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The morning glory can only be observed in the very early hours of the morning.
  • The Gulf of Carpenteria is in Northern Australia.
  • Morning Glory Clouds are best seen in the small village of Burketown, Queensland, Australia.
  • It occurs very consistently in this part of the world.

COMPOSITION

  • Large air masses of different temperatures clash together to form these clouds.
  • It is a type of arcus cloud.

FORMATION

  • They are always aligned from east to west and there may be a few of them in a row. Large air masses of different temperatures collide to form these clouds. Usually, when these air masses come together, they are usually invisible because they don’t have enough moisture to create a cloud, but the humidity is just right in this part of the world during the autumn season.

FUN FACTS!!

  • Since 1989, hang gliders and paragliders glide across the giant cloud like a wave in an ocean.
  • I will now copy and paste this link into safari and we can watch a video of people hang gliding on clouds.
