What?
During Moros y Christianos there are over 150 different festivals taking place. Some people are very
serious about this festival and prepare all year for the 28 armies doing the reenactment. Gunpowder smoke cover the streets as people celebrate the defeat of the Christians.

Who?
All the citizens of Alcoy, Spain are involved. But some people have more decorations and costumes than others and get involved in the battle and fight. The festival began with the real battle with the Moros and Christians.

When?
The festival of Moros y Cristiamos is celebrated for four days. On April 21st through April 24th the battle is reenacted. Even though the battle only lasts four days people prepare for it all year, because they have to put up decorations and make the costumes.

Where?
This festival is celebrated throughout Spain but it is mainly celebrated in Alcoy or in the providence of Alicante in Eastern Spain. The battle reenactment and activities happen in the streets mostly.

Why?
People made this holiday so they can reenact the day that the Moros defeated the Christianos. They celebrate with food and covering the streets with gunpowder smoke when they won.
