  • born in 1789.
  • Originally from Cuba.
  • Died on February 3, 1882.
  • Is not yet canonized.

EARLY LIFE

  • Real name is elizabeth.
  • From a mainly French speaking town.
  • Immigrated to the United States.
  • And eventually moved to Baltimore.

MAIN MISSON

  • Realized that immigrant children needed an education.
  • Opened a school in a her own home.
  • Operated the school with a fellow sister, Marie magdaliene balas.

MAIN MISSION

  • Together, they operated the school for over 10 years.
  • Took the name Mary because she was the founder and first superior general of the oblate sisters of providence.

END OF MISSION

  • Died on February 3, 1882.
  • Does not yet have a feast dat because she has not yet been canonized.
