TREATY OF GUADILUPE HIDALGO, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES, Railroads

Treaty Of Guadalupe Hidalgo

In the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, the USA obtained both Texas and California.

Some economic opportunities available to settlers moving west were gold and lumber. Also, many people moved West to start new businesses where the gold miners were.

Railroads were important during US expansion. Not only did they provide jobs for many people, they connected the western and eastern US, allowing for quick transportation and communication.
