I send private pictures throughout the year and also group pictures. If you opted to not have your child in pictures I will put a smiley face character over theirs.

I recommend wearing sneakers EVERYDAY. I understand you have purchased new shoes already, but if your child does not know how to tie their shoes yet, please try to send them in in sneakers that you don't have to tie. They play with them on the carpet, untie them, and it gets crazy!

Please have your child be here and be on time. It is so very important. It is a pivotal year for them and they learn SO very much of the important basics!

I'm sure most of your saw this letter. I LOVE it and completely agree. One thing I will add is to practice shoe tying with them. I will send home letters, sounds, and words they need to work on and fun ideas for ways to practice them. You will keep these at home. Nothing will be collected. The only homework they do have is reading. We do not have book sacks this year so i will just try to send some books either in their folder or in a plasic ziplock bag.

If you don't have older children the reading levels may sound like another langauge. I will help you undersatnd anything you need to know. Basically, there are two main color levels in Kindergaten, Yellow and Green. By the end of Kindergarten the goal is to be fluent in the green books. Celebrity of the week-You can come in to read to the class the week that your child is celbrity of the week. Of you can't come in send a grandparent, aunt, uncle, or someone important in their life.
