WHAT IS MRSA?

  • A bacteria that causes infections in different parts of the body
  • Symptoms: Red swollen and pus filled boils, fever, cough, chills

HOW MRSA IS DIAGNOSED

  • If it looks like a spider bite
  • Physical exam
  • Skin sample
  • Blood sample

HOW COMMON IS MRSA?

  • Less than 2% of the U.S. population are carriers of MRSA
  • Approx. 126,000 people are hospitalized each year
  • You can not be immune to it.

HOW DOES A PERSON GET MRSA

  • They are no biological factors with MRSA.
  • MRSA is infectious
  • Enviromental factors - touching objects and sports activities

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BODY?

  • There are open sores on the body that can cause infection
  • Problems are in the throat and nose

CAN WE TREAT MRSA?

  • It is very difficult to treat.
  • A combination of antibiotic injections can be used.
