MT. ETNA

Mt Etna is 10,991 feet in elevation, and is 93 miles around.

Mount Etna is Europe's most active volcano. It is located in Sicily, Italy.

Last week, Mount Etna was spewing ashes sporadically from a new crater. It is a very active volcano, and it's last eruption was Aug 13 of this year.

The first eruption was in 1500 B.C. Mt Etna has a longer written record of eruptions than any other volcano.

The worst eruption was in 1669, when the lava ruined a dozen villages and covered part of a city called Catania.
