MUMMIFICATION

The reason they did this is because they believed in the afterlife. They thought by mummifying they would never die and always live in the community.

Was everyone Mummified?
Not every one was mummified because of the large expense. Most commonly only Pharos were mummified.

HOW DOES IT EFFECT OUR WORLD TODAY?

My group and I think that it effects our world in the way that we can remember the sacred people before us and have the opportunity to explore the way people lived before us. I also think that it causes us to realize how important and valuable their gods or rulers meant to the civilization.

• When a mummy has been mummified many years after the only thing left is their hair and teeth
