PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Today I'm here to talk about musical theory.
I've divided my speech into three parts:
1-What is music and music theory?
2-How can we structure pieces?
3-The future of music

1-What is music and musical theory

Let's start with a question.
Do you like music?

What is music?

Music is basically a series of harmonious frequencies.

What is musical theory?

Musical theory is a system which was structured by musicians with different subjects in it. It is used to structure better pieces.

Actually almost the whole system was founded by one unbelievable musician:
Johann Sebastian Bach

Of course, in the history of music there were rebels too.

2-How can we structure pieces

There are two major subjects in musical theory
Tones and Intervals

Musicians especially pianists almost always tried to make music more complicated and increase the possibilities but they weren't just crazy they knew at one point all of the possible pieces could be written. That means at one point music will come to an end.
But now it is almost impossible right now.

J.S. Bach is known as one of the biggest musicians and the "father" of the piano.
He didn't invent the piano but before him there were only the white keys on the piano and you can only play one possible tone on the piano and that is C Major.
An example for that is twinkle twinkle little star which was composed by Mozart.

He could hear something no one else could. And he discovered that between b and c, e and f there are only half pitch but with another notes there were twice as much gap of the frequencies.

Then he decided to add the black keys which seperated two notes.

Now we can play 15 different tones which has the same intervals every two note as C Major on the piano and the possibilities became endless for the 7,5 octave instrument.

3-Future of music

Microtones

Violin seems like a very old instrument but actually has something in common with future's instruments.
It is microtonal.

Centuries after violin's invention in 30s musicians added a pitch wheels to the piano which can bend the sound. But it became popular in 80s and 90s.

Now there are violin-like versions of instruments.
