MY ACADEMIC JOURNEY

Freshman year I started my academic journey through high school.

During my freshman year I struggled with speaking in front of the class and making presentations. I did well with my writing and work, however my verbal communication skills were weak.

Sophomore year I started to improve on my communication skills due to the increase in presentations that I had to make. I do not have evidence of my presentations because it was all verbal.

During sophomore year I learned how to do research papers and how to cite information. I struggled with this for a long time.

JUNIOR YEAR

• My writing has improved greatly since my first two years of high school.
• I am able to present facts in a research paper better than I could last year
• I am more comfortable citing my sources of information
• I no longer write only using first person

SENIOR YEAR

• This year my presentation skills have improved 100%
• I have to make presentations at least twice a month
• I am comfortable speaking in front of the class
• I am required to write a lot of papers both research as well as opinion
• I have done more personal writing this year as well as college essays
