MY ART AND OTHER ARTISTS

Here is a collection of art that I did over the summer. I challenged myself to do a couple of pieces of art each week both at Art K Art Studios, Chelsea Fine Art and at home. These are my favourites but also some other fun facts about artists I admire.

This is a picture of an ocean sunset that I painted with watercolours.

PABLO PICASSO

• Pablo Ruiz Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer who spent most of his adult life in France. His style of painting is called ‘Analytic Cubism’.

FUN FACT

• Did you know that Pablo Picasso’s full name was Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso

WASSILY KANDINSKY

• Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky was a Russian painter and art theorist. Kandinsky is generally credited as the pioneer of abstract art. Born in Moscow, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated at Grekov Odessa Art school. He enrolled at the University of Moscow, studying law and economics.

VINCENT VAN GOGH

• Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who became one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life.

This last one I did at an art class in Wandsworth and I like it because it’s 3D.
