General information

• China has a population of 1.3 Billion People that makes a seventh of the earth's population
• It's Capitol City is Beijing other famous cities in China are Shanghai and Hong Kong
• It's area is 70,000 Km2
• China Has 292 Living speaking languages it's official spoken language is Mandarin another popular language in China is Catonese
• It is overpopulated and has 61 cities with more than 1 million inhabitants

THE CHINESE FLAG

• On the Chinese flag there is five stars
• One star is big that represents the communists party of China (CPC)
• The four smaller stars surrounding the big star represent the working class (peasantry),Urban petty bourgeoisie and the national bourgeoisie
• The stars are yellow like the Chinese people's skin.

• The Chinese national emblem represents revolutionary traditions and it's the symbol of Beijing
• It Has a famous Chinese location on it The Tiananmen Square and also has five stars on it like China's flag
• Red Golden Cog represents industry in China
• Golden circles shows sheaves of wheat and rice to represent agriculture in China

• Daoism is the only religion out of five to originate in China
• Daoism is about enjoying life and hates death,strives for immortality

CONFUCIANISM

• It's the conerstone of China's culture.
• Founded by Confucius (551-479 BC) he is a philosopher and would be one of China's most famous ones
• Founded China's moral way of looking at life and what behaviour to have when alive

• There are 56 ethnic groups in China.
• Han Chinese make up about 91.5% of the population
• Another ethnic group is Mosou people.A race of woman who are the only people in China where females are in charge of race.
• The woman raise their children and helped by their mothers and grandmothers
• They do not marry as they have no belief in it although they have a marriage tradition called walking marriage where a man walks into the woman's room and woman decides after if he stays in the morning

CHIna's national treasures and landmarks

• China has many national treasures and known for it's landmarks
• China's national treasure is the panda bear,one of the things people associate most with China.It is an endangered species
• China has many famous landmarks the most famous would be the Great Wall of China,it stretches for 4,000 miles.That is thirty times the distance of London to Paris.It can be seen from space

China's Climate

• In the east and central part of China it is warm at 22 degrees Celsius
• while In the north it is very cold at -34 degrees Celsius.It is so cold that in the town of Harbin during winter months they build a town out of ice which attracts many tourists
• Because of weather one of main factors of overpopulation as many move to the east coast leaving it densely populated and leaving north and west of China as rural settlements

Chinese rivers

• There are two well known rivers in China
• One is the Yellow River (Huángghé) called this because it's colour.It goes along the eastern part of the country
• The other river is called The Long River (Cháng Jiáng) because of it's length.it is located on the northern part of China

Chinese characters

• composed by strokes
• the earliest type is Jiaguwen
• Han characters nickname from Han ethnic group
• oldest continued writing system In the world
• dates back to the Shang dynasty-1600 BC/p1046 BC
• inscripted on oracle bones
• Canje is a mythical person who is said to have created characters had 4 eyes and pupils
• 2,500 characters are used regularly have become simpler over time

Sport in china

• China has created many well known sports it's most popular would be ping pong (Píng Páng Qiú)
• also famous for martial arts such as Wrestling, Tai Chi and Kōng Fú
• They still play some of there ancient sports such as Shuttlecock kicking and Cuju which is an ancient form of football playedp in vietnam,Korea and Japan
• They hosted the 2008 Olympics In Beijing.They built two venues for it. The Watercube for aquatics and then The birds nest for other sports
• It had a massive opening ceremony and had it's own logo of cartoon pandas representing important things in China-bei-fish jing-panda huan-Olympic flame Yīng-tibiten antelope and ni-the swallows all together it says Beijing welcomes you

Chinese economy

• China's economy has been up and down in it's history
• High tech industries along with C Chips,satellites and solar batteries being developed in China
• The majority of goods made here and are imported to many countries all over the world
• Consumer market of 1.3 billion
• It's grown 90 times larger since starting in 1978
• It's the larges energy consumer of coal it relies on coal for 70% of it's energy
• it's the worlds largest exporter of goods and second largest importer of goods.
