I am a shy person.

In eighth grade I had a group of good friends who allowed me to step out of my shell, but although I was very outgoing around my friends I was still a standoffish and quiet person when meeting new people.

Not good

  • In eighth grade at my old school we had to deal with the younger grades on a regular basis.
  • I was not a good leader because I was so shy.
  • I did not want to tell people they had to listen to me even though that was my job as an eighth grader.

Being shy lead to some problems in an activity the eighth graders had to lead every Friday called "School Families".

'School Families' is a gathering in the morning every Friday. The eighth grader is in charge of one person from each grade 1st-7th

I happened to be one of the lucky few who didn't get any help with families from their seventh grader.

My seventh grader was supposed to be like a second leader. The problem was, he disregarded everything I ever said to him.

I was left to control the rowdy bunch of my family on my own.

I ended up reaching out to some of my other friends who where experiencing the same things to ask them how they controlled their families

They gave me some amazing tips on how to control the obnoxious first and second graders

Being with a loud group of people you are supposed to control can be really tedious, but being around them can also help you break out of your shell to be a great leader
