My Friend Mahi

This is the story of my friend Mahi. I haven’t finished it yet and I will keep adding more.

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

MY FRIEND MAHI

BY JULIA RIMKUNAS

Mahi was born in Ohio, USA. She was small and weak then. But she is stronger now.

CHAPTER 1

Too Kind?

Mahi prides herself on being “Kind and nice and not mean.” Which is true. Some people say she is too kind, because one time she was playing pickle ball, and she kept picking up other people’s balls that they dropped and handing it to the people who had dropped it. In the end, she had no time to actually play pickle ball with her friend.

Mahi likes her friends to be kind. She values kindness so much that she has a big poster in her bedroom that says, “Kindness Rules!” One time when the teacher asked the class what values the president should have, Mahi raised her hand and said in a small voice, “They should be kind!”

Mahi is always thinking of others instead of herself, but is that a bad thing?

CHAPTER 2

MAHI AT SCHOOL

Mahi is kind at school too. She has very good grades and a 4.0 GPA. But there is one class she is not very good at. P.E. She is not very athletic, but she tries her very best. When her gym class goes outside, Mahi always gets very scared because she’s scared of bees. Her friends prank her a lot by yelling “Bee!” And Mahi screams and runs as fast as she can away.

Mahi is very polite to almost everybody she meets at school. She is pretty good at making friends. Actually, I first became friends with her when it was recess outside, and Mahi walked up to me and said hi.

Mahi tries her hardest on any school project or test that she has. She usually has all A’s in school, but sometimes B’s. Surprisingly, she isn’t in any advanced classes. She does pretty good on big tests until it comes to when she has to present a project. Then she gets really shy and speaks quietly and no one can hear her.

CHAPTER 3

MAHI’S HOBBIES

Mahi does quite a few hobbies in her free time. Here are all the ones I know of:
1. Sewing. Mahi knows how to sew stuff like pillows , and she even joined the sewing club at school.
2. Art. Mahi loves to draw and is constantly doodling on her papers during her classes.
3. Tik Tok. Mahi loves to make Tik Tok videos and makes one almost every day. People on her school bus even call her “Tik Tok girl”.

4. iMovies. Mahi likes to make iMovies and was on a roll a couple months ago where she made like 3 a day.
5. YouTube. Mahi has a very unsuccessful YouTube channel that has only 10 subs. But it’s ok, since she tried her best.
6. Writing. Sometimes for fun, Mahi writes little short stories that are actually pretty good.

7. Singing. Mahi doesn’t compete in singing competitions or join the school choir, but she’s actually fairly good at singing.
8. Going outside. Mahi tries to go outside every day when she gets home from school, because she says, “nature is my friend, and I love spending time with it.”

CHAPTER 4

MAHI’S FAMILY

Mahi has a mom, dad, and little brother. She loves her little brother so much and takes so many pictures of him. I saw her photos on her phone once and there were like only pics of her brother. She loves her mom and dad too, though, and said,”they’re the best parents I could have.”

Mahi also has a cousin who she “loves very much”. She goes over to his house sometimes, even though he’s a couple years younger than Mahi is. She has a big family, and her grandparents sometimes visit her too.

CHAPTER 5

MAHI’S PETS

Mahi, sadly, does not have any pets right now. She wants to get a rabbit, but her parents won’t let her because of what she did to her pet bird she had when she was 3. It’s a very sad story, so if you’re an animal lover maybe you shouldn’t read this...

As I said, Mahi was 3 years old. At that time she had 2 pet parakeets. One day, when Mahi’s mom was in the kitchen and Mahi was left alone with the birds, she decided that she wanted to hold one of them. She reached into their cage, and even when the nibbled at her fingers, she still grabbed one and picked it up. She was holding the bird very tightly in her fist, and then she set it down on the counter.

Mahi looked at the bird fondly and then realized that the bird wasn’t moving. “Mom,” she called, “something’s wrong with their bird!” Mahi’s mom came hurrying into the room and then saw the bird resting motionless on the counter. She gasped, and then said, “you killed it!”
It was a very sad day for all of Mahi’s family. Maybe you shouldn’t blame her, since she was 3, but she probably won’t be getting any pets anytime soon.
