STEPS TO BECOMING A FILMMAKER

STEP 1

  • Buy a camera
  • If you're going to be a filmmaker, you are going to need something better than your phone. A purchase of a good camera is a deffinate

STEP 2

  • Get a bachelors degree
  • Most filmmakers want to get a bachelors degree in television production to obtain the knowledge and experience to become a filmmaker.

STEP 3 CREATE A SHORTFILM

  • Most college classes offer an opportunity to apply what you've learned in the classroom to a film in the studio.

STEP 4 GAIN EXPIERIENCE

  • After graduating college you may not be ready to become a filmmaker. You can get a job as a camera man, or anything small. Start where you can and work your way up. People will notice you.

STARTING SALARY

  • The starting salary is $15.28 an hour and $31,780 a year
  • The highest filmmakers earn $87.40 per hour and $181,780

Description of Job:
Filmmakers are responsible for every part of a film production. As a filmmaker, you might come up with the idea, write the script, raise money, find filming locations, audition actors, and direct the piece.

OPTIONS OF PLACES TO WORK

  • I can stay in Louisville if that's the best place to work on the film. I may to travel to Tennessee to get a shot for a film, but I will try to stay mostly in this part of the US.
