My glass is HALF full

Challenged about your methodologies?
Review them to become more effective in future.

Things to remember

Make a top six list of reminders for yourself.
Here's my example.

keep others happy

Staying realistic: -
Focus on deadlines to prioritise work – don't give room to suggest background has impact on capability. Keep people happy. Try to do work with a smile.

filter the noise

Listen: -
Use a content management hub (E.g. I use ‘Scoop.It’[http://www.scoop.it/t/the-office] ) to help filter the noise.

suggest better ideas

Fight club: -
Remember the first rule. I mean don’t talk about the challenge. Simply rise up to it and call on those past stressful situations to make things happen. Talk to your comrades in Fight Club but don’t stop suggesting any ideas that will make improvements for all the team.

purpose

Goalllllllll: -
(Try the Eifel Tower test) There has to be purpose. Find out what is being asked of you and what you need to achieve it. Ask questions. What happened last time? What/who has changed since then?

generate alternatives

Use anger positively to get you through: -
But like Dr Banner (see Avengers Assemble) remember to switch your anger off (as others may not like it) at times. Do use anger to generate alternative proposals. Make your 'offer' easy for others to understand. Accept limitations (of others) - emotional intelligence is a skill and not everyone is a collaborator to achieve shared success.

change your ways

Learn: -
(E.g. from Michael Jackson) "I’m looking at the man in the mirror, I’m trying to change his ways.
I'm starting with the man in the mirror I'm asking him to change his ways ... That man, that man (Man in the mirror)".
