- Adopted as a baby while parents figured out divorce problems
- Parents never came to even say hi for 17 years
- Step dad wanted to bring her and his wife to Baltimore because he got a new job

GOLDA AND GIDALYA BRUCKS
- Adopted Ella as a baby
- Raised her like the child they never had
- Wanted to take her to Baltimore
- Got the custody to take her cause parents haven't seen their child in 17 years
- Moved to Baltimore with Ella to start a new life

HOW
- She got here by boat and took a week
- She had traveled with Golda and Gidalya
- Moved to Baltimore from Kiev, Russia
- Came in 1904
- She was seasick most of way and mother thought she would die

WHY
- She came because she was adopted
- While her parents settled something then they would come back for Ella
- Her parents never came ever
- Her step parents were going to take Ella to Baltimore but had to get custody first
- Step dad got a new job offer in Baltimore so he invited Ella and Golda to come

FACTS
- She liked to eat peanut butter, salmon, shrimp, pasta, pizza, and cookies
- She was a stay at home mom
- She brought a scrap book with her
- Her life was rough in Russia and was better in America
- Got married at 24 to my great great grandpa Harry gerber then had my great grandma Esther gerber and her siblings Sigmund, who I'm named after, Frances and Gertrude
