California

  • How we planned the trip
  • The stressful ride cross country
  • Finally into our Air B&B

1. How we Planned the Trip
It all started one morning when my friend Julian made a four way call with Brandon, Xavion, and I. He proclaimed that we had to go to LA because it was going to be the spot for spring break this year. So with a short 50 days to plan, we found a place close to the walk of fame and delta flights to set us up for a week of fun

2. The Stressful Ride Cross Country
As someone who deals with a fear of flying the trip there was extremely stressful for me. Even after taking a prescribed xanax I couldn't help but stress-fully sweat throughout the 5 1/2 hour flight. The slight turbulence we had on the way there and back, felt much more life ending to me than it did for anyone else on the flight. However the 11 hours of fear was much worth the week of fun in LA.

3. Finally Settling Into Our Air B&B
When we finally got to Los Angles we knew we didn't want to uber everywhere. So we rented a car hoping we could just drive it to our house for the week. Unfortunately we weren't able to enter for another three hours. This gave me an opportunity to start the vacation drinking so we went to Dave and busters for 5 hours and passed out when we FINALLY made it home. This early night set us up for the rest of the vacation.

Good Times

  • Exposure to different cultures
  • Fun tourist spots
  • Fun weekend nights
  • Fantastic food
  • Back to regular life (no slide, exactly what it sounds like).

Exposure to Different Cultures

  • We spent a lot of time moving on foot in LA. We went to a bunch of different cultural spots like little Tokyo and a Mexican shopping district. We also got to see the arts district with many different vendors and stores. We got to experience haggling for prices and see what different cultures had for clothes, toys, and art. Walking around and finding these different districts was one of the best parts of the trip!

Fun Tourist Spots

  • While in LA for the first time we had to go and check out some of the tourist spots. It really made the trip a lot of fun when we couldn't think of something better to do. We went to the sign, the beach, the pier, and the walk of fame. All places that really made the experience of LA worth it. The beach and pier was something we really enjoyed and did multiple times while we were out there.

Fun Weekend Nights

  • LA has a very lively night life and nothing closes early. Everything from the bars to restaurants to street vendors stay open till the people decide to sleep. Weather it was us driving down the street on electric scooters or dancing in the club we always had something fun to do on the weekend nights.

Fantastic Food

  • The variety and the flavor of the food was on a different level there. Weather it was chashu or ramen from little Tokyo, or the different restaurants featured on YouTube like Howlin Ray's. But even more than the restaurants the street vender's food was fantastic. Every food truck or street vendor we stopped at seemed to have better food than the last. It just shows you some of the best food doesn't have to come out of a restaurant.

The Long Drive Out

  • My girl friend Jenna and I both had one vacation week left in the year. As it was getting cold i convinced my brother and his girlfriend to make the drive out with us to Daytona Florida. The drive was around 20 hours and was extremely cramped the whole way. It was a ride from hell and really felt like it would never end. When we got there however, it was worth every minute. I also preferred the 20 hour drive to a three hour flight.

Beautiful Daytona Beach

  • When i finally saw Daytona i knew that for our last week of vacation we picked the perfect place to spend together. We were right next to water with a beautiful view. Everything we needed was within walking distance, After some pretty chilly days the warm weather felt perfect!

Family and Couples

  • Going with my brother and his girlfriend ended up making the perfect match and dynamic for our group. I think we really enjoyed spending time together and experiencing Daytona. I think we all made a real bond and can share in that experience for a long time.

Romantic Getaway

  • This trip was just as much a vacation as it was a getaway for Jenna and I. We were somewhat new to our relationship and this really cemented us as a couple. We went out to eat and to the bars. We also had beach walks and night time golf cart rides. It was truly a great vacation.

In the Future I Want My Vacations to be!

  • There's this guy i used to watch on YouTube called Jay Alvarrez. He lives an extravagant life with crazy adventures. In the future i would love for Jenna and I to be able to go on crazy adventures and trips just like Jay does. His videos used to inspire me as a kid to make money so i could go do these incredible things he does everyday.
