Although when she was in the underworld Persephone ate pomegranate seeds, which meant she had to stay in the underworld. Hades and Zeus both agreed that she could stay for a third of the year with Hades and the rest of the time she could stay with her mother.

Okuninshi and the Rabbit
Okuninshi's brothers and Okuninshi traveled to find a Beautiful woman who was trying to find a man to marry. Okuninshi's brothers left Okuninshi to carry everything on his own. He soon lagged behind the group. Okuninshi's brothers came across a rabbit without any fur lying on the ground. The rabbit asked if they could help, and the mean brothers told it that it could bathe in the salt water and then climb the tallest hill, to dry off.

The rabbit did what it was told, but the salt got into it's dry cracked skin which made it worse. When Okuninshi passed by the rabbit, the rabbit begged him to help. Okuninushi told it to bathe in the freshwater stream and roll around in cattails, the rabbit did what Okuninushi told him and it soon completely healed. The rabbit promised that the Goddess, Yagami-hime, would marry him instead of any of his brothers. When Okuninshi caught up, what the rabbit said came true and the goddess married him. His brothers full of jealousy, tried to kill him multiple times.
