THEIA

Greek mythology

  • Also known as Thea or Euryphaessa, she is a titan born from Uranus and Gia. She was considered a titan goddess of light and gave out precious minerals like gold and silver. She gave birth to Helios, Selene, and Eos. She was considered be be very beautiful and was an ocular goddes.

  • With her Titan brother, Hyperion, as her husband. She gave birth to Helios, Selene, and Eos. Thus creating the gods of the Sun, Moon, and Dawn.

APEP

Egyptian mythology

  • Apep is considered to be the Egyptian embodiment of chaos. He is said to be a several mile long, golden snake born from Ra's umbilical cord. He resides in the 10th gate in the river of night. When Ra passes by on his boat, he would battle him. They would defeat him but would fight again the next night.

  • Apep is said to wait at the tenth gate in the river of night in the Duat. Each night Ra would fight him as he travels down the river on his boat. The Gods would help Ra and defeat him, but should they not be able to, he will swallow to sun and send the world into a sea of chaos.

FINRIR

Norse mythology

  • FINRIR is a giant wolf born from Loki and Angerboda. He had two siblings, Hel and Jörmungandr, and was the parent of Sköll, Hati Hróovitnisson, and Mánagarmr. The gods feared his rapid growth and bound him using fetters. He is said to kill Odin when Raknorök begins.

  • With his rapid grown since birth, the gods feared that he will endanger them. They came up with a plan to bound him with fetters. They crafted 3 of them and used the first one on him. They asked him to try to break out of it. With ease he kicked out of it in one try. The second one had the same effect. But the third one though, held strong as he struggled. As he fought against it, it just became even stronger.

YU-HUANG-SHANG-TI

Chinese mythology

  • Yu-Huang-Shang-Ti is the heavenly ruler of Heaven. He is also known as the Jade Emperor or Father of Heaven. He created man and is a sky God. To get to this point he passed 3,200 trials.

  • The world was young and monster ruled it. The gods at the time were to weak to help, but the Jade Emperor wanted to find a way. He went to a mountain and faced 3,200 trials, each lasting 3 million years. Once he gained power, he returned and saved the mortal from evil.
