Ruth married one of Naomi's sons. They both lost their husbands during a famine, and travelled together to Bethlehem. Ruth worked in the fields for money, she worked so hard that the master of the fields noticed and rewarded her with food and an easier workload. Ruth and Naomi would never leave each other.
This story was very important in the development in Jewish religion because it taught the Jewish people to always be loyal to your friends. It is even read during a Jewish holiday, Shavuot.
