Napoleon's actions reflected among many people some called him a hero and some called him a tyrant. I am going to show examples of both positive and negative actions through out Napoleon's journey.
Napoleon was very committed to make France a strong empire he did this by spending 4 years defeating defeating different nations such as Europe, Italy, Austria, and Prussia. Destroying these empires created a French empire that scoped the entirety of Europe, adding 9,000 miles.
Not only did napoleon renew the French Empire but he also took over the government on November 9 and 10, 1799, stopping the French Revolution. Because of this people were really relieved that Napoleon stoped the mad violence and ended the French Revolution.
Thanks to Napoleon's extensive efforts, there were written laws. Such as the Napoleonic code and basis of modern French law that granted religious freedom. Also, when he became emperor, he improved many laws of ordinary people. And as for the children, He created school for every one to attend because he valued education.
As we all know Napoleon had many downsides to his ruling over France. He was very demanding but he did not show it to the people and there was a strict supervision to prevent corruption, meaning you had to pay taxes.
There was also no freedom of speech and he took away many women rights during the revolution. As well as refusing to give equal rights to all French people.
As for the battles that Napoleon led, parents had to send their sons to fight in many battles, where countless people died. Doing this parents were devastated knowing that their son was in great danger.
