EXPOSITION

  • In the beginning Ty and Gemma went inside a vortex to hide some crops for their parents
  • When they reached the middle of the vortex Ty went out to tie the crops to something big so he tied it
  • to a broken airplane wing. When he was going to tie the crops to the airplane wing a giant squid that
  • changed from neon white to blood-red and it's name was diablo rojo, the red devil. When Ty went to
  • reach for the clip on his waist the squid sent out its tentacle at him, so he got his knife and stabbed it

RISING ACTION

Gemma and Ty hid some crops for their parents and while they were hiding it Ty went out to tie it to an air plane piece and found a giant squid that was one of the most deadliest things in the sea. The squid changed colors to confuse him but he moved and the squid grabbed him. The squid was fast and started pecking at his helmet but it was made out of flexiglass. He pulled out his dive knife and snagged it. It went away and came back with more of them and Gemma who was in the sub rammed them and Ty rushed back into the sub before the squids could do anything else. Then there parents were taken away and Ty and Gemma are in panic.

CLIMAX

  • Ty and Gemma found their parents that the surfs took and they retrieved the crops that they also took.

FALLING ACTION

  • Their parents are safe and the crops are safe and the crops were delivered to the customer.

RESOLUTION

  • They solved the problem by finding out that they misjudged the surfs.
  • The surfs didn't have all the things that the people on the township had so
  • they Ty and Gemma's parents to get the crops because they needed them.

QUESTIONS

  • A. The exposition affects the plot and characters because the place of
  • where it could be and the people that are there like there are bad
  • guys and good guys and the setting could take place in dangerous places.

  • Ty and Gemma fought against a squid while they were hiding crops
  • and when Ty stabbed the first squid he tied the crops to a big piece
  • of aluminum and then the squid came back with a group and Gemma
  • rammed them with the sub and then they got away.

  • In the story which changes everything it tells you what's happening to the people.
  • It also changes the plot of what's going on because there could be a new problem
  • that has risen from the climax. The characters could be in trouble or they could
  • have solved the main problem that was going with them.

  • has been solved and the characters are happy.

  • worry about the problem that they faced and are happy and calm.

  • The theme of the story "Rip Tide" is get to know people and don't misjudge them.
  • In the beginning of the story Ty and Gemma were hiding crops
  • for there parent because the people want the crops (Falls, page 1.)
  • An example from the story is the guys have to fight against a giant squid.
  • "With a half turn I found myself facing an enormous squid" (Falls, 6.)

SUMMARY

  • In the middle of the story Ty and Gemma are trying to find there parents because the surfs took them.
  • So they lost trust in the surfs because they kidnapped their parents.

  • In the end their parents were taken hostage by Hadal because he was ordered to by Ratter
  • who was ordered by the boss Fife. Ty and Gemma's parents were trapped inside drift which was
  • sinking and the surfs and their parents were going to drown or freeze to death if they didn't do
  • anything. So Ty did some sign language to his parents and they told the surfs.
So Ty did some sign language to his parents and his parents told the surfs to go to the bottom of drift and open the air lock and Ty would wait with a net to help. They opened the air lock and they grabbed the net and Ty and the surfs that could swim helped him bring the net up and keep the people safe (Falls, 303.)
