What is the role of imagination and creativity in the conversion from knowledge in the natural sciences to science fiction?

what is science fiction?
"realistic speculation about possible future events, based solidly on adequate knowledge of the real world, past and present, and on a thorough understanding of the nature and significance of the scientific method."

Where did it all begin?

There are creatures inhabiting this planet, and there are other planets...

Imagination:
action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.

Reason:
the power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgments by a process of LOGIC.

Present elements from the Natural Sciences

  • cloning
  • DNA strands (polynucleotides), engineering, mapping, etc.
  • animal testing/cloning
  • hormone replacement
  • gene mutation

So how did we get here? (logic/reason)

  • (first) Humans live on a planet. There are other planets. There could be other organisms on other planets.
  • These organisms could be intelligent. These organisms might want to communicate with humans.
  • These organisms (aliens) could have DNA different from our own. (6 markers instead of 4)

4. Alien DNA and our DNA could be infused and used to create a new type of humans/organism.
5.(second) In 1993, the cloning of embryos is possible. Through the intelligence these aliens offer, it could be possible that mammal/human cloning has already been done.
6. The government has secret organizations and confidential files. The government could be hiding information (alleged crash at Roswell, 1947) about this human cloning if it has been done.
7. This cloning could contribute to the creation of an entire race of alien human crossbreeds.

8.Since there are gene mutations in real life, there could be gene mutations in these 'super humans' that cause...
- toxic blood
- super human abilities
- near-immortality

So what?

But what about science that stems from fiction?

So does Imagination play the main role in converting real science to fiction?

It depends.
