  • Man made disasters can be divided into different categories and .
  • they include technological hazards and sociological hazards

AVALANCHES

  • The worst avalanche happened in May 31, 1970.
  • It took place in the coast off Peru.
  • The estimate death toll is between 20,000 to 70,000 people.
  • The most destructive landslide fell from Peru’s highest mountain, Mount Huascarán

BLIZZARDS

  • The worst blizzard took place in Iran.
  • It occured in February 3, 1972.
  • Villagers were trapped benath up to 26 ft snow.
  • It lasted until February 9.
  • It took 4,000 lives.

  • It occured on November 13, 1970.
  • It's estimated death toll is 500,000.
  • It produced devastating storm surge flooding.

EARTHQUAKE

  • The 1556 Shaanxi earthquake occurred in China.
  • It had happened in January 23, 1556.
  • The earthquake was estimated to be at magnitude 8.
  • It leveled mountains and altered the path of rivers.
  • It had killed 830,000 people.

FLOODS/LANDSLIDES

  • The 1931 China flood occurred in China.
  • There were numerous floods that occurred in the Republic of China.
  • But between July snd November 1931, China had experienced
  • strange weather patterns.
  • 1, 000,000 — 4,000,000 people had died.

HEATWAVES

  • The 2003 European heatwave occurred in Europe.
  • It had happened in the year 2003.
  • It had physical impacts such as forest fires,
  • melting glaciers, low river flows and lake levels.
  • A total of 70,000 people had died.

LIGHTNING STRIKES

  • It happened in Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes.
  • It happened in April 3, 1856.
  • The resulting explosion killed 4,000 people in and around the Palace,
  • reducing it to a pile of rubble that sat on Rhodes for almost a century.

  • The 1999 Vargas Tragedy took place in Venezuela.
  • It happened in December 15, 1999.
  • Heavy rains over 14 days brought devastating floods
  • and huge mudslides down from the Avila mountain.

  • The Daulatpur–Saturia tornado happened in April 26, 1989.
  • It occured in Manikganj District, Bangladesh.
  • Countless trees were uprooted and every home within
  • a six square kilometer area of the tornado's path.
  • It had killed 1,300 people.

TSUNAMIS

  • The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami happened in December 26, 2004.
  • It (obviously) occured in the Indian Ocean.
  • It's death toll is 280, 000.

VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS

  • Mount Tambora is an active volcano in Indonesia.
  • It happened in April 10, 1815.
  • 92, 000 people had died during its eruption.
