Navajo Indians are one of the largest tribes in the US. Many live on the Navajo reservations and some still live in the traditional tribal homes called, hogans.

Navajo Economy - 2 main sources: agriculture (corn, beans, & squash) and livestock (sheep, goats, horses).

Many Navajo were run out of their lands by ranchers. In 1864 soldiers forced about 8, 000 Indians to march more than 300 miles to New Mexico. The Navajo call this march the "Long Walk."
