Stephen Curry is in his sixth season as a guard with the Stephen Curry plays for Golden State Warriors. A starter in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, Stephen is one of the league’s best shooters.
Last season, Stephen averaged career highs of 24.0 points (seventh in the NBA) and 8.5 assists (fifth) along with 4.3 rebounds and 1.63 steals, becoming the first player in Warriors history to average 24 points and eight assists in a single season. He led the league in three-pointers made for a second consecutive season with 261, and tied for second in the NBA in triple-doubles with four, the most by a Warrior in a single season since Wilt Chamberlain had five in 1963-64.
In 2010 and 2014, Stephen was a member of the USA Men’s Basketball Senior National Team that won Gold Medals at the FIBA World Championships.
Stephen was selected by the Warriors in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft (7th overall). He finished his rookie season as runner-up for the 2009-10 NBA Rookie of the Year Award and was a unanimous First Team All-Rookie selection.
Stephen splashed onto the national scene while leading Davidson College to the Elite 8 in the 2008 NCAA Basketball Tournament. His sharpshooting and boyish looks made him a national headline while his small school played the role of Cinderella.
In 2008-09 he led the nation in scoring with 28.6 points per game and was a consensus first-time All-America selection. Stephen was twice named the Southern Conference Player of the Year. He holds career records at Davidson for scoring, three-pointers, free throws, 30-point games and 40-point games.
PERSONAL
Stephen married his former college sweetheart, Ayesha Alexander, on July 30, 2011 in Charlotte. The couple had their first child, daughter Riley, on July 19, 2012.

His father Dell was a star at Virginia Tech and went on to play 16 seasons in the NBA for five different teams, including a 10-year stint with the Charlotte Hornets. Sonya was a standout on the volleyball team at Virginia Tech.
Stephen has three siblings, Seth, Sydel and Will. Seth, who played college basketball at Duke, was signed as a free agent by the Warriors prior to 2013 Training Camp.
Stephen received the Joe Dumars trophy as the 2010-11 NBA Sportsmanship Award winner and was once again a candidate for the 2012-13 award, which is voted on annually by NBA players.
Since his college days at Davidson, Stephen has been involved with the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign, which distributes live-saving, insecticide-treated mosquito nets to protect families across Africa from malaria. Last season he launched his Three-For-Three Challenge, in which he donated three bed nets for every three-pointer he made during the season. In July of 2013, he traveled to Tanzania with a group from Nothing But Nets in order to distribute bed nets to families at the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp.
An avid golfer, Stephen has hosted the ThanksUSA charity golf tournament at San Francisco’s Presidio Golf Course each of the past three years. He also hosts the annual Curry Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament in Charlotte, along with his father, with all proceeds going to the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson, NC.
