PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NBA REFEREEING

BY ALEX AND BRADY

If you said NBA refs were good take a look at this

We Believe…
That sms students should be aware that NBA refs are falling short of the officiating level they are expected of and highly paid for.

Reasoning

  • Referees are making bad calls that change the outcomes of game. For example, the NBA admits that they missed 3 vital calls in the last ten seconds of overtime during the Kings-Spurs game on 12/24/2020 that led to the kings winning 124-122. This is just one of many examples of bad officiating leading to a wild win.

OUR SOURCES

  • We used 19 sources
  • Each source was either from the web or from a database
  • Our group found that web sources were more useful
  • We used the California State University at Chico’s CRAAP test to judge the reliability of our sources.

KEEPING TRACK OF OUR RESEARCH

  • We used noodle tools to site our sources
  • In noodle tools we used source cards to cite our sources.
  • Attached to the source cards are our content cards which contain our article that has important information highlighted along with our CRAAP test.

The other side of the issue

  • A common counter is saying that the NBA refs are human, and therefore aren’t perfect.

You don’t have to be perfect to know not to call this.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ISSUE

  • The NBA justifies all the missed travels by saying that they “allow the players one step to gather in the ball” as found in a official NBA report, therefore giving them a gather step plus the two initial steps giving a total of 3 steps right?
