Yadkin River Basin (Facts)

• Yadkin River is one of the longest flowing rivers in NC, flowing 215 miles.
• The mouth of this River Basin is Pee Dee River.
• It rises in the northwestern portion of the state near the Blue Ridge Parkway's Thunder Hill.

Yadkin River Basin (environmental threats)

• Invasive species have undoubtedly become established in the basin, and are likely having a negative impact on Native Populations.
• Dams and impoundments to the east of the region pose a threat to this River Basin.
