Threats To The Prairie
Before Euro Americans began setting in North Dakota In the late 1800s almost the entire region was grasslands. Today almost 80 percent of the north Dakotas native prairie is vanished. In the red river valley 95 percent of it has vanished. Now that the land is plowed up for crop usage habitats have been destroyed. A,lot of grassland species suffered huge population loses when the habitats were destroyed, change or moved to other small patches of land.
