Mandela was gallant to hold protests because they were illegal in South Africa. He could get arrested easily. I think he was gallant about wearing disguises in the big city of Johannesburg. Lots of police were on the hunt for Mandela. Overall, he was gallant for fighting against the strict government of South Africa.

Friends with Tambo, everyone wanted Mandela out of Jail. He won lots of prizes such as the Nobel Piece Prize and the World Citizenship Award.

Mandela was a college partner with Tambo, when Mandela was in jail, Tambo was very desperate into getting Mandela out. When Mandela was in jail, there were protests, rallies and marches to get him out of prison. Everyone wanted to free him from prison. Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 with Tambo.

Mandela ended apartheid in all of South Africa. Everyone person in that country was free because of him. Nelson Mandela was the first ever black president of South Africa. He won so many awards. Including the Nobel Peace Prize. Mandela wrote lots of good books about his life.
