Neon was discovered shortly after Krypton in 1898,and was discovered by Sir William

0.0018 % of the earth's atmosphere is neon. If you could gather all the neon from the rooms in a typical new home in the United States, you would get 10 liters (2 gallons) of neon gas. Neon is also colorless and odourless.

Neon is used in neon signs which are used in advertising. Neon is also used to make high-voltage indicators and switching gear, lightning arresters, diving equipment and lasers.
