Job description


Neurosurgeons perform surgery on the central (Brain and spine) nervous system, and/or the Peripheral (all other neural elements, including but not limited to the eyes, ears, skin and other "sensory receptors") nervous system.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Four years of pre medical education at college or university
  • Four years at a medical school (M.D or D.O degree)
  • One year internship in general surgery
  • 5-7 years in a neurosurgery residency program
  • Continued education such as research to keep accurate reccords

Pay

Most neurosurgeons receive anywhere from 250,000 to 400,000 dollars annually depending on location.

  • Countries range from needing 70- 5,000 surgeons
  • The amount of jobs in neurology are endless
  • Range from therapists to surgeons
