WHY THEY SPEAK FRENCH

  • Because New Caledonia is a French colony. Today it is still under French control.
  • The french arrived in New Calodonia in the 15th century and took control.

WHEN TO GO

  • The best time to go if you want to relax is in between November to March
  • But if you want to explore the hiking trails then go in between June and October

CAPTAIN COOK

  • Captain Cook discovered New Caledonia in 1774 by accident
  • He was on his way to New Zealand and found New Caledonia

  • There are 4500 species of animals
  • There also are 68 types of birds
