NEW CALEDONIA

Where New Caledonia is:
located in the southwest Pacific Ocean, 1,210 km east of Australia and 16,136 km east of France, but in the Southern Hemisphere

It's capital city and other main cities:
Nouméa is the capital city of New Caledonia. It is situated on a peninsula in the south of New Caledonia's main island. Some other cities are Ouvéa and Mare,wé,Tiga, Lifou and more is on the map.

Geographical features:
Settled by both Britain and France during the first half of the 19th century, the island was made a French possession in 1853.
This is a small peice of the Pacific Ocean.New Caledonia is located 1,500 km east of Australia and 1,700km west of New Zealand.
The city extends 450 km long by 50 km wide.

It is speculated that New Caledonia separated from Australia roughly 66 million years ago, subsequently drifting in a north-easterly direction, reaching its present position about 50 million years ago.

The mainland is divided in length by a central mountain range whose highest peak are Mont Panié

New Caledonia use Franc (XPF) for there currency.They say that it is the most populist currency.It goes from EUR to XPF.

Why is French spoken
New Caledonia is apart of French Republic. They speak French, French is used because if it's language but in some occasions they may have done Melanesian that language is also French too. The propose of these laws is "loi d'orientation d' outre mer".we respect the languages which are apart of the French culture

Tjibaou
In the Tjibaou Cultural Centre there are
displays including sculptures, paintings and photographs representing Kanak culture, as well as other cultures from all around the Pacific. The main buildings are very tall, curved wooden structures which rise very high above the trees.
The Equipment they use to make the culture centre is the conical domes built from laminated wood and natural wood, concrete, coral, aluminium castings, glass panels, tree bark and stainless steel.The building is located on the narrow Tina Peninsula, which goes into the Pacific Ocean along a ridge line,approximately 8 kilometres , northeast of the old city centre of Nouméa.The building plans, spread over an area of 8,550 square metres of the museum.

lifestyle
The French eat a simple breakfast which provide coffee, tea or hot chocolate with milk, served traditionally in a bowl and bread or they have croissants. Lunch and dinner are the main meals of the day. Four course meals consist of a starter course a salad, a main course and a cheese or dessert course. While French cuisine is with rich desserts, in most homes dessert consists of only fruit or yogurt.

In France, cutlery is used in the continental manner with the fork in the left hand, and the knife in the right hand. French people they place their hands below the table and the placing of elbows on it.

France has a wide all sorts of indigenous folk music, as well as styles played by immigrants from Africa, Latin America and Asia. In the field of classical music, France has produced a number of composers and modern pop music has seen the rise of popular French hip hop, French rock, techno/funk.

The climate is tropical, with a hot and humid period from November to March with temperatures between 27 °C and 30 °C and a cooler, dry period from June to August with temperatures between 20 °C and 23 °C

When Kanaks enter the home of a chief, they will offer a small token as a sign of respect and to introduce themselves.
