WELCOME NEW FACULTY MEMBERS

JENNIFER ZIMMERMAN

TEAM 7-1 ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS
Jennifer Zimmerman is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Middle Creek High School in Apex, NC and will teach 7th grade English Language Arts. She has taught in WI, CA and NC public schools for six years and for a CA private company for two years. Jennifer loves traveling with her husband, Tony, and their two children, Mia (10) and Cal (8). Any time spent around water is a good time for Jennifer: swimming in the ocean, rafting down the river, hiking around a lake, lounging at the pool. If a book can be brought along, even better. She and her husband want to discover more of the area walking and biking trails. Any time that's left over, Jennifer spends it with her wonderful family. Her two cats, Mojo and Ozzie, are nice too.

TIONIA RICHARDSON

TEAM 6-2 MATH
Tionia Richardson is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Columbia, SC and will teach 6th grade Math. She has four years of experience. She is a mother of two Tony(14) and Kayla (11), a graduate of USC- Columbia, and enjoys learning about technology integration in the classroom. Apart from that, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

LINDA LEOPARD

TEAM 7-1 SCIENCE
Linda Leopard is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill and will teach 7th grade science. She has 22 years of experience. She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, water sports, mountain sports, and horseback and photography. Her daughter is a graduate of Appalachian State U and her son is starting college this year. She and her husband will be " empty nesters" except for three dogs, a cat and a bunny.

TORI HILL

7TH GRADE LEARNING SPECIALIST
Tori Hill is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Rock Hill High School and will teach 7th grade Special Education. She has 12.5 years experience.

I am married to Steve Hill and we have two children (a 7 year-old boy and 3 year-old girl). Most of our time is spent taking care of the kids but our biggest "hobby" would be participating as cast members at Narroway Productions. This will be our 13th year performing there. I also sing with a praise team at our church.

CHRISTY DEMPSEY

6TH/7TH GRADE LEARNING SPECIALIST
Christy Dempsey is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from York Road Elementary and will teach sixth and seventh grade Resource. She has eight years of teaching experience. Christy is a graduate of Winthrop University and is native to the Rock Hill area.
Christy is married and has one child, a four year old, named Eli. Christy and her family also have a thirteen year old fur child, a Chihuahua named Petey. Christy’s hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, traveling, shopping and most recently, training for 5K runs. She enjoys water aerobics, running and working with the youth at her church.

JESSICA FUENTES

SPANISH
Jessica Fuentes is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Broome High School in Spartanburg, SC and will teach Spanish. She has two years of experience teaching middle and high school. She is originally from New Jersey, but has been living in Rock Hill for seven years now. She attended Winthrop University where she received a Bachelor's in English and Spanish. She is currently working on her Master's in TESOL. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

BETH KLIPA

PERFORMING ARTS/DRAMA
Beth Klipa is joining the Dutchman Creek Family and will teach Fine Arts. She has 10 years of teaching experience and a total of 24 years experience of directing musicals, plays, and other performing arts events. In her spare time, she teaches group fitness, is a personal trainer at the Upper Palmetto YMCA and enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to Milan Klipa (24 years this July!) who teaches at Castle Heights Middle School and together they have 3 children; Tyler age 21, who is a sophomore at Western Carolina University where he plays wide receiver for the Catamount football team, Matthew age 14 who will attend Rock Hill High School and enjoys playing football, basketball, and performing Christian rap for FCA events, and Annie a rising 5th grader at India Hook Elementary who loves to fish, sing, play basketball, soccer and golf, The family is relocating from Tega Cay, SC to Rock Hill this summer and are all excited about their new adventure!

JOY LARUE

TEAM 7-2 SCIENCE
Joy LaRue is joining the Dutchman Creek Family from Gaston County, NC, Mt Holly Middle school in Mt Holly and will teach 7th grade science. She has 9 years of teaching experience in middle school science. She grew up in a family of teachers, her mother, and in-laws all teach in York County, Va and she knew at a young age that is what she wanted to become. Currently she lives in Fort Mill with her husband and 4 dogs, 1 guinea pig and her fish. Occasionally, she gets to share her yard with cranes, turtles, and deer. When she is not outside hiking, camping, or walking the dogs, she enjoys watching movies with her husband and reading books. In the summer, she spends her time in Newport News, Va with her family visiting her mom and dad, her sister and her two cute nieces.
