WHY/WHAT DOES IT DO

  • It was created to give people's jobs back
  • It gave millions of people work building schools, bridges, and parks
  • It allowed people to make a living off the jobs.

WHO DID IT AFFECT/BENEFIT

  • Poor people
  • Unemployed people
  • Homeless people

SUCCESSFUL

  • Yes, it was very successful
  • It was the largest and most ambitious New Deal agency
  • Almost every community in the U.S. had a bridge, park, and school
  • Made paid jobs for unemployed men and women
  • Helped over 8.5 million people

IS IT STILL AROUND?

  • No, terminated in 1943
  • In 1939, abuse and mismanagement by workers lead to a reduction
  • In1943, virtual elimination of unemployment, caused it to be terminated
