NEWGRANGE

  • Newgrange was made in 3000-2500BC.
  • It was inhabited by Neolithic people.
  • They worshiped the sun god so they built NewGrange as a place of worship.
  • It was also a place to bury their dead.

  • The Neolithic people carved beautiful designs on certain rocks.
  • The reason they were carved was either for decoration or some sort of a message.
  • Neolithic people were hunter gatherers so they were farmers.

  • Newgrange was abandoned in the late Neolithic period.
  • On the winter solstice,light will shine through a roof-box at the entrance and will light up the entire tomb.
  • Newgrange is older than the pyramids of Gaza.
