Isaac Newton

  • Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician.
  • He formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation.
  • Newton also built the first practical reflecting telescope.
  • He lived from 1643 to 1727.
  • Newton's final gesture before death was to refuse the sacrament.

"APPLE FALLS"
The story goes that Newton was sitting under an apple tree, an apple fell on his head, and then he suddenly thought of the Universal Law of Gravitation.
Though he thought the apple is accelerated, since its velocity changes from zero as it is hanging on the tree and moves toward the ground and by Newton's 2nd Law there must be a force that acts on the apple to cause this acceleration.

"NEWTONS FIRST LAW OF INERTIA"
An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an external force acts upon it and an object that is in motion will stay in motion unless an external force acts upon it.

"NEWTONS SECOND LAW"
Acceleration of an object depends on its mass, size, and direction of the force acting on it.

"NEWTONS THIRD LAW"
In every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects.

YOU PUT WEIGHT ON THE CHAIR BY GRAVITY AND THE CHAIR PUSHES BACK ON YOU TO HOLD YOU UP.

gravity is always pulling down on me :)
