QUESTION OF THE DAY

  • What is the first law of motion also known as?

ANSWER

  • Inertia

1ST LAW

  • Newton's first law of motion explains that objects in motion stay in motion and objects at rest stay at rest.
  • This law is also know as inertia.

2ND LAW

  • This law explains that an objects acceleration is proportional to the size of the force.
  • This is also known as the law of acceleration.

3RD LAW

  • This law explains that when an object applies force to another object, the second object applies an opposing amount of force.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION

  • Job 33:12 says,"But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than any mortal." This shows that even though people are smart enough to figure out the laws of motion, God created them and us above all things.

SHORT QUIZ

  • Match the law with the description.
  • - 1st law - equal and opposite reaction
  • - 2nd law - inertia
  • - 3rd law - equal applied amount of force

ANSWERS

  • -1st law = inertia
  • -2nd law = equal amount of force imputed
  • -3rd law = equal and opposite reaction
