WHY IS IT UNIQUE

  • There are caves behind each waterfall
  • It is Americas oldest state park
  • Every second 3,160 tons of water flows off of Niagara Falls
  • It can produce up to 4 million kilowatts of electricity

HISTORY

  • The formation of Niagara Falls started at the end of the Ice Age
  • Native americans most likely found Niagara Falls
  • It has been around for about 12,300 years

HOW NIAGARA FALLS HAS CHANGED OVER TIME

  • It has erode 11.4 kilograms in the last 12,300 years
  • 800-600 years ago it use to be a single waterfall now it has split into two
  • The depth used to be 25 feet but because of the generating plant it has reduced over time
