PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Once upon a time there lived Ranginui (sky father) and Papatuanuku (earth mother) They held each other close which caused nothing but darkness.
They had seven children, but the children didn't like the darkness because as they grew older it became very uncomfortable So they decided to push them apart.
it was going to be a very hard task.
Each child pushed as hard as they could but couldn't do it. The last child to try was the smallest one Tane Mahuta. He pushed and strained and managed to push them apart with his bare hands, the other brothers congratulated him.
Ranginui was sad and cried cried for Papatuanuku and rained seven tears. Those tears are are known as the seven stars of matariki.
