HOW DID NIGERIAS CULTURE CHANGE AFTER BEING BY BRITAIN?
Britain colonized Nigeria at the end of the 19th century,
this changed many aspects of Nigerian culture as religion
economy and education.
3.
RELIGION
Christian missionaries were sent to Africa to convert the population.
The majority of the population was Muslim so this created conflict.
Many tribes had their own indigenous beliefs.
The British set up schools and taught Christianity.
4.
ECONOMIC
The British expolited the Nigerians country, by taking raw materials
and using slave labor. But it was not all negative the British made
Nigeria a more organized state and improved the lives of the people.
5.
EDUCATION
The British used school to teach English and
spread Christianity, they also encouraged literacy.
6.
EFFECTS
The Nigerians lost their authority in Nigeria,
they lost their language, their religion ect.
But what the British did to the Nigerians culture were
not all negative they made the country more organized,
and improved the quality of life for many Nigerians.
