During WW2, colour deficient pilots were able to see the outline of vehicles and people that used camouflage without night vision glasses. Because the loss of colour, these pilots could see in the dark better than others.
Based on information, colourblind people can see better in the dark, making them top dog when the squad doesn't have NV goggles with them. That also makes them good spotters when someone is hiding with camouflage.
In conclusion to this story. ColourVision Deficiency allows some colours of light to be perceived. Night vision allows more light to be perceived, but these types can't be seen by the human eye.
So these goggles allow near-infrared and ultraviolet radiation. It's like night vision is steroids for the eyes, and colourblind people are just the jocks. If you see the reference I'm making that's great. But if not then that's ok.
To show my point better, Normal vision: colourAble, some night vision Colourblind: some colour, good night vision Night vision goggles: little colour, night visionAble.
