Crafting Your ?'s

HAVE SOME FOR EVERYONE, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING TO LEARN?

What do students/parents like about on-campus living? What do they complain about?
(General question, can be asked of different groups, get different answers)

Are there programs or initiatives from your area that you wish you could better connect to ResLife for?
(Interview process will include people from other offices, get insight from them about goals)

Is the graduate pool at "AnyU" sufficient to create a competitive applicant pool for the "Grad RD title" positions?
(Only for campuses with grad RDs, but good to know about potential future issues you may cope with)

"Previous CHO's Name" had been in the position for "X time if you know it". What would you like to see stay on track/not change, and what are things you might like the new CHO to focus on?
(Assess the status quo)

Is there an anticipated timeline/plan for any residence hall renovation or construction in the next 5 years?
(Opens the door for various comments on existing plans, things they know need work but have no plan for, what kind of funding situation they are facing, etc.)

Basic Rule of Thumb:
Think about why you are really asking a question. Would the answer impact your decision to accept a position there one way or the other? If not, then it is probably not an important question to ask if time is limited

Closing Q&A

DRAMATIZATION: CANDLES NOT ALLOWED IN THE RESIDENCE HALLS
