PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
Edward Snowden
Nobel Peace Prize
2.
WHAT HE DID
Edward put his own life in danger to expose the truth about the government.
He disclosed classified NSA documents to several media outlets for the good of the people.
This revealed operational details of a global surveillance apparatus run by the NSA
People were being watched and they didn't even know it. So he exposed the information to all.
His release of classified material was called the most significant leak in US.
3.
WHY HE SHOULD BE NOMINATED
In my opinion he opened the eyes of America.
Not knowing that the government was spying on everything we did is a scary thing.
I firmly respect his actions in revealing this information to us.
There should not be secrets like that being kept from us because that is against some of our rights as citizens.
4.
IMPACT/ CONFLICT
This information has been beneficial to many.
In order to protect himself he had to flee the country.
I believe in the actions he made and think he should not be punished.
The problem is quite obvious, that the citizens of America were being spied on without knowing.
This affected all US citizens and everyone in America that used Internet or used the phone.
