The Noble gases were previously referred to "inert gases" because of their extremely low level of reactivity. They don't use that name due to the discovery of a few rare compounds. One example is Xenon is forming compounds with fluorine. The elements that are included are, Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon. They are all placed in the same group because of their full amount of valence electrons in their orbitals. Most of them have 8 valence electrons, with the exception of Helium which has 2. They are all gases.
