WHAT IS IT?

  • Excessive noise.
  • Disturbs human or animal life.

IT'S MEASURED IN...

  • Hertz are the amount of noise.
  • Frequencies are how often the wave occurs.
  • Pressure is the intensity of the noise.

EXAMPLES

  • Airplanes with loud engines between 100-200 htz.
  • Cars on a busy road, between 20-100 htz.
  • Music at a concert, between 120-250 htz.

EFFECTS

  • High stress for people trying to focus at work.
  • Hearing loss after a long time in a loud enviornment.
  • Lack of predeter/prey detection for animals over time.

SOLUTIONS

  • Laws are made to regulate the amount of noise in an area.
  • Sound barriers are built on the sides of highways to trap sound.
