In 1712 North Carolina and South Carolina were officialy divided
North Carolina colony's first governor was Edward Hyde
hn White, he was the father of the first English baby born in the "new world". Her name was Virginia Dare. These colonists all disappeared in 1590 and the first permanent settle would not arrive until more than 60 years later in 1653.
The people made money by concentrated on agriculture and developed the plantations exporting tobacco, cotton, corn, vegetable's, grains, fruit and livestock.
